We are so excited to officially launch our new after-school creative programme,
Young Creators Collective at Sonlia School of Fashion.
With only 4 weeks remaining in this school term, this first intake will be a special introductory programme designed to give students a taste of the creativity, confidence and skills we will continue to build throughout future terms.
Our classes are about so much more than sewing.
At Sonlia School of Fashion, we aim to create a safe, uplifting and inspiring environment where children feel accepted, encouraged and free to express their individuality through fashion and art.
During this introduction programme, students will:
• Learn the fundamentals of hand sewing
• Gain basic sewing machine skills
• Begin their first creative upcycling project by revamping an item of clothing or op shop find into something unique to their own style
• Receive their very first Student Fashion Portfolio to document their ideas, creativity and progress
• Have the opportunity to be involved in a professional-style photoshoot featuring their creation
• Secure a place in our end-of-year Sonlia Fashion Show (date to be announced)
All equipment is supplied. Most materials are included; however some specialised fabrics, braids or embellishments may incur an additional cost depending on the student's design choices.
Please note that full term sign-up is required due to limited spaces and structured project progression throughout the programme.
We are incredibly excited to begin this creative journey with your children and cannot wait to see their confidence and creativity shine.
Date: Starting Thursday 4th June, then every Thursday afternoon until end of term.
Program duration: 3.30pm–5.30pm
Address: Sonlia Boutique - Shop 1, 99 Byrnes Street, Mareeba
A student registration form will be emailed once payment is received.
