The Fashion Lab is an inspiring after-school programme for young creatives who are ready to explore the exciting world of fashion, styling, upcycling and garment creation.
Designed for teenagers who love fashion, creativity and self-expression, this hands-on programme encourages students to develop practical sewing skills while exploring their own unique creative identity.
Throughout the term, students will work on a variety of fashion-focused projects while learning hand sewing, machine sewing, design development and creative problem-solving techniques.
During this programme, students will:
• Develop hand sewing and machine sewing skills
• Learn creative design and fashion development processes
• Explore fashion illustration and design concepts
• Upcycle and transform pre-loved garments into unique fashion pieces
• Create a range of fashion and textile projects throughout the term
• Build their own Student Fashion Portfolio to document their ideas, designs and achievements
• Have the opportunity to be involved in a professional-style photoshoot featuring their creation
• Secure a place in our end-of-year Sonlia Fashion Show (date to be announced)
All equipment is supplied. Most materials are included; however some specialised fabrics, braids or embellishments may incur an additional cost depending on the student's design choices.
Please note that full term sign-up is required due to limited spaces and structured project progression throughout the programme.
