Sonlia School of Fashion Millinery Masterclass Series
We are excited to invite you to join us for a unique six-week creative journey where you'll learn the art of millinery while designing and creating your own bespoke racewear headpiece.
Whether you've always wanted to try millinery or you're looking to create something truly special for the upcoming Mareeba Races or Spring Carnival, this course has been designed to guide you every step of the way in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Throughout the course you'll learn:
- The art of blocking
- Feather flower making
- Wired millinery techniques
- Hand beading and embellishment
- Traditional construction methods
- Professional hand sewing techniques
By the end of the course, you'll not only have gained valuable millinery skills and knowledge, but you'll also leave with a handcrafted headpiece that is uniquely your own.
As a special celebration, we'll also be hosting a Sonlia marquee at the Mareeba Races, where participants are warmly invited to join us and proudly wear the pieces they've created.
We encourage students to enrol in the full series, as each workshop builds on the skills learned the week before. All specialist tools and equipment will be supplied for use during the course. Materials are additional and will be charged according to the individual design and materials you choose. This allows every student the freedom to create a piece that suits their own style and budget.
As this is a specialised workshop, full payment is required upfront to secure your place. These masterclasses can only proceed if minimum participant numbers are reached, so early bookings are appreciated and will help us confirm the course as soon as possible.
